River Valley and Great World: What Is Changing

Great World MRT (TE15) and Havelock MRT (TE16) opened on 13 November 2022 with the third stage of the Thomson-East Coast Line. Great World sits under Great World City, about 750 m from the site, and Havelock on Zion Road, under 900 m.

For you, that puts Orchard just one stop away, with Marina Bay and Shenton Way a few stops in the other direction, all without changing trains. Tiong Bahru on the East-West Line was already about 760 m away across the Kim Seng bridge, so you now have two MRT lines within walking distance.

The River Valley Green parcels beside Great World became River Green, with 524 homes, and River Modern, with 455 homes and a direct link to the station. Over at Zion Road, the parcels beside Havelock became Promenade Peak, with 596 homes, and Zyon Grand, with 706 homes and the station built into its podium.

That adds up to about 2,300 homes and three new retail podiums within 1 km of the site, all on 99-year land, and a third River Valley Green parcel was also awarded in 2026. The River Opus stands out as the one site in this stretch with a 999-year title, backed by a developer that has owned the land for decades.

The Singapore River runs directly behind the site, where Fraser Suites Singapore sits on the riverbank today. The riverside walk takes you past Kim Seng Park and Robertson Quay, then on to Clarke Quay and Boat Quay, all the way to Marina Bay without leaving the waterfront.

Upstream, the same waterway becomes Alexandra Canal, with a linear park running alongside it towards Queenstown. At The River Opus, you're on that route, with Zion Riverside Food Centre and Great World City along the way.
